Inspirational Bible Verses
The Bible has verses that are full of inspiration. Many verses deal with the greatness of our God, His protection, and His plans to prosper us and give us a great future. I would like to highlight one to bring out some of the finer points of how God wants to inspire us.
Genesis 15:1 – “After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: ‘Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.’” At face value this certainly ranks as a great inspirational quote from the Bible. But looking a little deeper, we see an added layer of encouragement. The Hebrew word for afraid in this passage is yare’ and means: to fear, be afraid, to stand in awe of, reverence, honour, respect, to inspire reverence or godly fear or awe. It is different from the other Hebrew words for afraid in that it deals more with fear of a higher authority. Keep in mind that this is after Abram trusted God and came to Canaan, God rescues Abram and Sarai in Egypt, Abram rescues Lot, and Abram gives a tithe to Melchizedek. Abram had been through a lot with God. So what God is saying in this passage is: “Don’t fear Me!” Deep respect, faith, and reverence are the gateway to God. But we don’t live at the gate. God was inviting Abram enter a new stage of the relationship, one as a friend and family. Abram learned from his past that God was mighty, trustworthy, and capable. But now God wanted him to understand that He was also Abram’s Companion, Brother in Arms, Friend, Protector.
We may begin the relationship with fear, but we end up with trust and love. That is the God we serve. This utterance indeed signaled a change of relationship. God champions us, protected us because that is His end desire. We approach with fear – we live in love.
Respect God, reverence Him – Yes. But know that is just the beginning of the relationship that God wants to have with you.

I am overjoyed with this website giving quotations from the Bible according to different subjects. This is what I am experiencing now. I don’t know how to please everyone, even my own husband. If he believes what other’s say rather than my words – fine. I can’t force them to believe me. I just did what is right and lawful to the relationship. I should not be afraid but continue to do what few people admire and appreciate – the assistance I indulge on them. I am referring (few people) my children who is the recipient of my unconditional love. I must be stronger this time, not for the people who doesn’t believe but, for myself and for my children who loves me truly.
Marylene, I am glad these scriptures encourage you. As you walk out this verse, please remember – the greatest gift you can give your husband and children is the gift of a strong wife and mother. Follow the example of our Father – when the Adam and Eve people sinned, He did not put up with it. He set clear boundaries and loved them from afar while they were in rebellion.
If your husband and children do not respect you – do not put up with it. God loves you so much he sent His Son to die for you. You are worth more than all the stars in heaven. The Bible is clear: “Husbands, love your wives,” and “Children, obey your parents.” Love them, sacrifice for them, but do not go further than God was willing to go. God gave us the gift of a strong God who was not willing to put up with disrespect and rebellion. We, in turn, should give the gift of a strong mom who nurtures, loves, and is respected.
